Does anyone out there have any experience with Hermetite Gasket Compound? I've used a few different products from time to time but I've heard this stuff is really good.

hey!

Ive used it on motorcycle and other small engines. It's great to use on gaskets, threaded parts and joint faces and it seems to stand up well to heat.

Hope this helps.

hi there

I'm fairly familier with it, still, don't quote me on this.

I have used Permatex Copper spray gasket with success on cylinder head gaskets intake and exhaust gaskets. I have used Hermetite but that was a long time ago, and it was a good product. I thought that it was no longer available but maybe I'm wrong.

Perematex make a good range of products that I find work well on gaskets. I'm not a big fan
of silicone sealants although a times they are just what's required,eg waterproofing.Just make sure its compatable with the surfaces as sometimes the wrong type can attack or corrode the surfaces.Good luck with your repairs!

Your right but really in the end I think there are plenty of quality products about. Choosing the right one to suit the application is the key to leak proof gaskets.
Also I think sometimes we blame the gaskets for failing when the other surfaces are not up to scratch. So check all the surfaces.
Hermeitite is a great product .Ive used it and it works well.

Hylomar and Loctite products are also very good for engine repairs or rebuilds.
